Multiple characters in the Avatar universe hold a special power in which they use a third eye on their forehead to send combustion blasts at their opponents. The Avatar is also reincarnated into a new life whenever the current one passes away to keep balance. The Avatar, like in the Sanskrit meaning of the word is meant to fight evil, such as the Fire Lord in The Last Airbender and Vaatu in The Legend of Korra. In both The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, the Avatar is the master of all elements destined to keep the balance in the word, be the bridge between the physical world and spiritual world, and to keep peace. This idea of the Avatar is very similar to that of the series. The concept is mostly associated with Vishnu, a central god and one of the three deities of the Trimurti in Hinduism. In Hinduism this word means, “the incarnation of a deity in human or animal form to counteract some particular form of evil in the world”. The concept of the Avatar, comes from the Sanskrit word avatara.
